About

Ph.D. & M.A. from the University of Oregon; B.A. Chapman University.

I specialize in critical philosophy of race, Latin American & Latinx philosophy (especially the philosophy of liberation), and sociopolitical philosophy. Most of my research and teaching contributes to the diversification of professional philosophy and academia in general. My work is informed by a sense of injustice and strives to help realize a more just society. Born and raised throughout the Eastside of Los Angeles, the 1992 Rodney King/L.A. Riots ignited within my mind a profound concern with racism and race relations, material inequality, and the power of ideas.
